Instant Chat / Text Counselling
Instant Chat / Text Counselling can be done using a couple of different apps; Skype, FaceTime, and other instant messaging apps, or a private chat room. In an instant chat session, the client and counsellor communicate through the use of the instant chat messaging which is a typing facility.
Many people find the actual act of writing / typing that's involved in using instant chat text-based sessions can, in itself, be a therapeutic action.
Another benefit is that the content can be viewed later on. This acts as a reminder of what was discussed and by reading over the client can reflect on the issues brought up and how they feel now looking back.
